The Mayflower Theatre opened its doors on January 31, 1928 with the film, “Wife Savers”. On opening day, it had 600 seats and a Wurlitzer organ, operated by organist Edward Dollinger. Several years later, Teicher Theaters, who operated 10 theaters across four states, purchased the Mayflower. On May 25, 1988, a second screen was added. On March 17, 1995, a third screen was added. Finally, on June 7, 1996, it became a quad. Teicher closed the Mayflower Theater in 2011.

In July 2012, new owners took over the building, and it became the Mayflower Arts Center. After sitting vacant for a short time, Wesley Martin of West Milton purchased the building in 2022. In early 2025, Mayflower - The Encore opened its doors.
